Odd Week
This week we’ve been moving our offices out of Digital Library Initiatives and into the next room to make way for construction. We’re also packing at home for a move into our new house on Friday the 1st.
My computer started smoking this week so I finally bought a Cobalt Qube V3. I’ve wanted one for years. I picked it up at auction for $100. I plan to use it as a low-power home server for serving files via NFS and Samba, as a firewall, possibly as a mail and web server, and, well, anything really. I’m just working on replacing the original OS based on Red Hat 6.2 with Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. It’s tiny, too, at 7.5 x 7.63 x 7.75 inches. See the datasheet

How did you install Ubuntu on Qube3? Have you made a How-To?
I´m trying it, but I always get Kernel Panic…
