Just Spring
I am reminded of the words of e e cummings. I was just sitting on the screen porch reading
The Selfish Gene. The sunset over Northgate Park was lovely. It’s wonderful to be able to work outside a bit in the evenings after work. I’ve said it before, but Spring in North Carolina is sublime.
And now, one of the few things I recall from junior high.
in just-
in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame baloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it’s
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old baloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it’s
spring
and
the
goat-footed
baloonMan whistles
far
and
wee
e e cummings
